Kristen Wiig Cast in ‘Descendants’ Writers’ Action-Comedy

In a deal that almost seems like it was struck in a tent at one of the Oscars after-parties on Sunday night, Kristen Wiig has reportedly signed on to star in an action-comedy based on a recently sold script from Academy Award-winning screenwriters Jim Rash and Nat Faxon.

Wiig and The Descendants scripters Rash and Faxon actually go back much further than Sunday’s ceremony: They were all members of the Groundlings comedy team around the same time.

The untitled film is just the latest post-Bridesmaids move for Wiig, who will soon be seen in Friends with Kids and down the road in The Comedian, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and maybe, just maybe a Bridesmaids sequel?
