‘Mission: Impossible 4’ Writers Hired For ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’

tmntI’m fiercely defensive about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as I expect most people my age are. Even though the shows don’t exactly hold up a dozen years after the fact, I still cherish those four green dudes as fond childhood friends, so when the news hit that they’re making another movie and they’ve hired the writers of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, I get all mother hen-like and start shouting “DON’T YOU HURT MY BABIES!”

Now, we won’t know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing until M:I4 comes out, but these two have worked on several of the better sci-fi dramas of the last decade like Alias, Life on Mars, and October Road. That’s a lot of heavy stuff for a series about, you know, ninja turtles, but maybe some gravitas would do well for the series. Besides, Michael Bay as the producer will ensure plenty of explosions.
