After a good deal of anxiety that we wouldn’t be seeing Tony Stark join in the assembly for Joss Whedon’s next Avengers film, we have word that Marvel’s lovable cocky bastard isn’t going anywhere. The Stark Enterprise mastermind and his alias Iron Man will indeed swoop in for The Avengers 2 and The Avengers 3. Marvel has announced that fan favorite star Robert Downey Jr. has officially signed to reprise his role in the next two installments of the franchise.
As a part of the two-film agreement, douchey yet adored Downey will star as the billionaire badboy in Marvel’s The Avengers 2 and Marvel’s The Avengers 3. Considering the fact that both Iron man 3 and Marvel’s The Avengers have claimed spots on the list of five highest grossing films of all time, it’s no shocker that Downey ended up being more than ready to suit back up as Iron Man for another two films.
Now all I’m hoping is for Harley, the adorable kiddo with the scientifically sharp-witted mind, who emerged as Stark’s helper in Iron Man 3, to pop up in The Avengers 2… and maybe even 3, if that’s not too much to pray for!
