‘Sex and the City’ Sequel on the Way?

Rumors of a Sex and the City sequel got a big boost today by HBO executives.

Michael Lombardo, head of HBO programming, told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer session, “There is enormous interest by Warner Bros./New Line to do another Sex and the City. And I think, in fact, they’re trying with our help to put that together now. When that happens, how long between, can’t say…I think everybody associated with that project was really heartened by the enthusiasm from fans and by the new fans of the show.”

The big screen follow up to the hit TV show (starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristen DavisCynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall) surpassed expectations at the box office, bringing in more than $140 million (domestic) to date.
