In news that doesn’t really surprise anyone, the Oscars will air next year in their typical slot: February 26, 2012. Granted, there had been rumors that the AMPAS Board of Governors wanted to move the show earlier in the month, or even into January, but the rumors turned out to just be rumors. Thank god, though, am I right? How terrible would it be if we were to actually award the movies just shortly after they released? Whew. Crisis averted.
