According to Coming Soon, Armie Hammer has joined the psychological thriller 2:22, to-be-directed by Paul Currie. The film comes from the minds of Todd Stein (Unbound) and Nathan Parker (Moon) and will be another great post-Social Network role for Hammer. He just wrapped Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Naomi Watts.
2:22 is a thriller that will center on an air traffic controller named Dylan who, after experiencing a mysterious blinding light at 2:22 that nearly causes the collision of two planes, meets a woman named Sarah. In time, they realize similarities between their situation and a generation old double murder. Quickly, Dylan must solve the mystery of the 2:22 time in order to save themselves.
Those involved expect 2:22 to be an intelligent, thought-provoking film and Currie, who’s also producing the film through his Timeless Films banner, is unsurprisingly very excited. “From the moment I read the script, I realized that 2:22 was the kind of project that is extremely rare; a film that is highly cinematic, visceral and mysterious, providing audiences a thrill ride from the first to the very last scene,” he said.
A thrill ride! Shit. With that kind of talk, not even two Armie Hammers could make us more excited.
