1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER: To enter “The Celebrity Scoop Contest”(the “Contest”), visit the Contest https://www.hollywood.com/contests/benandjerrys/index.html in Hollywood.com’s World Wide Web site on the Internet (https://www.hollywood.com) (the “Contest Site”) between 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), June 8, 2001 and 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), July 6, 2001 (the “Entry Period”). To be eligible to participate, each entrant may be asked to submit an official entry form, which may include, among other things, his/her name, address, e-mail address, age and related registration information as prompted in order to be eligible to participate (the “Official Entry Form”). Where a dispute arises about who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail account. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Any Entrants received after 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Friday, July 6, 2001 will not be eligible to be included in the selection of the winner and shall be disregarded. The above-noted July 6, 2001 deadline is final.
2. ELIGIBILITY: This program is open to continental U.S. residents, 18 years of age or older as of 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, June 8, 2001, except all employees and officers (and their immediate families and household members) of Hollywood Media Corp., Ben & Jerry’s Homemade, Inc. and their respective divisions, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents and advertising agencies, none of which are eligible. Void in Alaska and Hawaii. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
3. MAIL-IN ENTRIES: Contestants may also enter by hand printing their name, address and telephone number on a postcard or in a letter and mailing it to Entry, The “The Celebrity Scoop Contest “, Hollywood Media Corp., 2255 Glades Road, Suite 237W, Boca Raton, Florida 33431. All mailed entries must be postmarked by July 3, 2001 and received by received by no later than 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on July 8, 2001. All of The “The Celebrity Scoop Contest” Contest information will be posted at the Contest Site (https://www.hollywood.com/contests/benandjerrys/index.html) throughout the Contest.
4. PRIZES: 29 winners shall each receive 10 Ben & Jerry’s Free Ice Cream Pint coupons. All prizes listed above are subject to certain restrictions and qualifications of the Contest Providers. Approximate value of each prize is $30.00. Prizes are not nontransferable and nonexchangeable. All prizes will be awarded.
5. GAME OF SKILL: WINNER SELECTION: This is a game of skill. The following point scoring system shall apply: each participant begins the game with a total of 800 points, for each scoop used ten points are deducted from such total and for each second that passes an additional ten points per second is deducted provided that the maximum amount of points that can be deducted for passing seconds is three hundred points (30 seconds). The potential prize winners will be the entrant with the highest scorer at the end of each day from all entries received that day that are otherwise eligible for the drawing at the end of that day. The selection of the prize winners and the judging of the Contest will be conducted by Hollywood Media Corp. (together with its divisions, affiliates, officers, subsidiaries, agents and employees, “Hollywood “) whose decisions are final and binding on all aspects of this Contest. Each of the twenty-nine (29) daily potential prize winners will be notified at the end of the week in which they have won the prize, by e-mail, mail and/or telephone. Failure of each potential prize winner to respond within five (5) days may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternative winner (the second highest scoring eligible entrant of the applicable day). An alternative winner will be selected in the event the prize cannot be awarded to the winner drawn. By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges. In the event of non-compliance, an alternative winner may be selected. No substitutions or cash redemptions of prizes are permitted except Hollywood retains the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes will be awarded.
6. CONDITIONS: Entrants release Hollywood Media Corp, Ben & Jerry’s, Homemade, Inc. and their respective divisions, affiliates, officers, subsidiaries, agents, employees, and all others associated with the development and execution of this drawing (collectively, the “Contest Providers”) from and against any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising from this drawing and the awarding and use of the prize, including liability for personal injury. Entries and other submitted materials become the property of the Contest Providers and will not be acknowledged or returned. Neither the Contest Providers nor Internet access providers are responsible for incomplete, late, lost, misdirected or postage-due mail or for any technical malfunction, human error, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or line failure in connection with any telephone network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entries are void if unreadable, inaccurate, incomplete, mutilated, tampered with, forged, mechanically reproduced, irregular in any way, or otherwise not in compliance with these rules. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, Hollywood Media Corp reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the program.
All taxes in connection with prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Potential winners, at the sole discretion of Hollywood Media Corp will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and compliance with these rules, liability release, publicity release (unless prohibited by law), address verification and other registrations and participation information requested by Hollywood Media Corp and the other Contest Provider (unless prohibited by law). If winners are under 21, his/her parent or legal guardian will also be required to sign any document which the winner is required to sign pursuant to these Official Rules. You are not a winner until your submissions are validated. Failure by the potential winner to complete, sign and return any requested documents within five (5) days of delivery to potential winner’s claimed address or return of prizes as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner, at the sole discretion of Hollywood.
By entering this Contest, unless prohibited by law, the potential winners consent to use of his/her respective name, voice, photograph and/or likeness for advertising or publicity purposes for this and similar promotions without compensation and the potential may be required to provide a signed release acknowledging such consent. By entering this Contest, potential winners acknowledge acceptance of these Official Rules and agree to be bound by them. The decisions of the Contest Providers are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment.
7. CONDUCT: By entering this Contest, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. The Official Rules will be posted at the Contest Site (at https://www.hollywood.com/contests/benandjerrys/index.html) throughout the Contest. The Contest Providers reserve the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the game or the Contest Site, to be acting in violation of the Official Rules, or to be acting in a disruptive manner, or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY INTERNET SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAME IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. IF SUCH AN ATTEMPT IS MADE, THE SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY PARTICIPANT IN THE ATTEMPTED DAMAGE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
