Fall Movie Guide-K-PAX

The Players: Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges, Alfre Woodard; directed by Iain Softley

The Skinny: When a man calling himself K-PAX (Spacey) arrives at New York’s Grand Central Station announcing he is from another planet, the obvious course of action for the authorities to take is to send him to a mental hospital. Once there, K-PAX is entrusted to a kindly shrink (Bridges) who becomes more and more impressed by the man’s convictions. Could he really be from another planet?

The Bottom Line: This film definitely has Oscar potential written all over it. Basically a two-man show, these two brilliant actors will have ample opportunity to shine. Maybe Bridges gave Spacey some pointers since he knows a few things about playing aliens from his own Oscar-nominated performance in 1984’s Starman.
