“The Last Samurai” tells the tale of a dissolutioned American military officer, Captain Nathan Algren, who is hired by the Japanese Emperor to train the country’s army in the ways of modern warfare. Of course, modern warfare in the 1870’s was far different than today’s ways, but you get the idea…Ultimately, the captain finds himself drawn away from the modern ways of his life and into the world of the Japanese Samurai warrior – which creates a struggle between the 2 eras and 2 worlds and only his sense of honor to guide him through.
