Pam and Jim supporters rejoiced with The Office season finale. No, the episode didn’t leave us hanging with another kiss! It was much sweeter than that. The finale kicked off with Michael, Karen and Jim gearing up for their big interview in NYC. Before they leave, Jan shows up wanting to get back together with Michael. He calls the girls into the conference room for moral support, but caves as soon as he’s greeted by Jan’s umm…newly purchased boob implants. “The girl’s advice was good but Jan’s was bigger,” Michael observes. While spending the night in the city, Jim and Karen have a heart-to-heart about what will happen to their relationship if one of them gets the job. Karen offers to move if Jim gets the job. And Jim…well, he doesn’t say much in return. But Michael finds out mid-interview the newly-opened position is actually Jan’s. Turns out they have been planning to fire her for months. Michael warns Jan, who then bursts in on Karen’s interview–only to be escorted out by security. Back in Scranton, Dwight assumes his new position as Regional Manager and wastes no time making changes to the office. For starters, he paints his office black to appear more intimidating, hires Pam as his “Secret Assistant,” and allows Andy to be his right-hand man. And forget the parties and company outings Michael hosted. Instead, the employees must listen to lectures given by Dwight. As an added bonus, staffers can earn “Schrute Bucks,” which can be cashed in for an extra five minutes at lunch. The times are a changin’ at Dunder-Mifflin. Back in New York, Jim is sailing through his interview–until he finds a note in his folder from Pam wishing him good luck. Later, when Pam is telling the camera she hopes Jim gets the job, he bursts in and asks her to dinner. Beaming, she says yes–and he confirms it with, “It’s a date then.” So, who ended up getting Jan’s old job? RYAN! No one knew the former temp was even in the race. His first order of business after he receives the news is to immediately break up with Kelly. Until next season…
Elliot, J.D., Kim and Keith
[IMG:R]On the Scrubs finale, we are left wondering if Elliot and J.D. are going to get it on…AGAIN. After J.D.’s pregnant ex-girlfriend Kim follows him back from the medical convention, he decides to let her move in with him until the baby is born. But one thing leads to another and they are a couple once again. Meanwhile, Carla tries planning a bachelorette party for Elliot, who takes over the whole thing, leaving Carla’s ideas in the dust. J.D. starts to realize he’s in over his head–right around the time Elliot realizes she doesn’t love Keith enough to wipe gunk from his eye. So what do they do? They end up lying to their significant others about being on call for the evening. While wallowing in their misery, they somehow find themselves lying next to each other in the same bed. Cue the randy music! And the camera cuts away just before their lips touch.

Sandra Oh deserves a Golden Globe, well, another one at least, for her performance on the Season Finale of Grey’s Anatomy. Let’s start at the beginning. The test results from the intern exam are in and George is the only one who didn’t pass. He must either repeat his year as an intern or leave the program all together. He chooses the latter. But that was after he promised his wife, Callie, they would try to have a child. Izzie recites the same speech to George regarding her love for him. It’s getting old, Izzie. After collapsing in the hospital bathroom, the Chief learns that Adele is pregnant. At the end of the episode, she looses the baby–and tells him the child was his all along. She was worried he would choose the hospital over his family if he knew the truth. But he never leaves her side. Scratch that, he does, but only to tell Burke, Addison and Mark that they didn’t get the position as Chief. So that leaves Derek. But he turns it down so that the Chief can get another chance to do a better job the second time around. Meanwhile, Ava’s, aka Jane Doe or Rebecca, husband shows up to bring her and the baby home. She begs Alex to give her a reason to stay but he tells her to go be with her husband. Typical Alex. Before the wedding, Derek pours his heart out to Meredith and all she could do is walk away. She needs to make sure Christine walks down the isle to marry Burke. But that moment never comes. Christina starts freaking out when she realizes she washed her wedding vows off her hands. It is Burke who takes that lonely walk down the isle and calls off the wedding. He realizes that he can’t change who Christina is and he wouldn’t be true to himself if he married her. Then the most intense scene in Grey’s Anatomy history happens: Meredith walks into Christina’s apartment to find her standing there with her wedding dress still on. She starts pointing out all of Burke’s things that are missing. He’s gone. She starts crying. Hyperventilating really. At first you think it’s because she’s upset. And then she says, “I’m free.” She rips off her necklace and Meredith cuts off the dress and she just stands there crying…tears of joy.
Blue horns
[IMG:R]The wedding continues for Lilly and Marshall on How I Met Your Mother. It’s time to party at the reception but it’s not all fun and games for the happy couple. They are constantly being bombarded by guests and unable to sit down and enjoy their wedding meal. Meanwhile, Barney overhears Robin and Ted discussing how the wedding is over and now they can now start telling people. Telling people what? Throughout the episode we are given tiny pieces of information before we are interrupted by the wedding surroundings, i.e. cutting the cake, bouquet toss, etc. To make a long story short–and to save you the agony of guessing throughout this recap–I’ll just tell you. Robin and Ted broke up. Two weeks before the wedding, they went to dinner to celebrate their anniversary. The waiter brings over some champagne and inside the glass is an engagement ring. Robin freaks out that Ted is doing this to her. He knows she doesn’t want to get married and she’s making it quite obvious. As it turns out the ring was meant for the couple seated behind them. Ted tries to get over the incident but he just can’t. Another couple bites the dust.

We’re down to the final three on American Idol and the contestants must perform three songs chosen by the judges, producers and the competitors themselves. In Round One, Simon chose “Wishing on a Star” for Jordin. Does he wants her to lose? It was such a boring song that even he didn’t like it. Paula chose “Roxanne” for Blake. It was good but it sounded exactly like The Police. He didn’t put his own spin on it like he normally does. Round One went to Melinda, who sang “I Believe in You and Me” by Whitney Houston. It was flawless. Round Two was the producer’s choice. Jordin was forced to sing, “She Works Hard for the Money”–cute and sweet for her age. Blake sang “This Love” by Maroon Five, a perfect selection. He seemed so comfortable–and even threw in some well-placed beat boxing. The producers chose a song so obscure for Melinda, I don’t even remember the name of it! But she sang the hell out of it–proving she can really conquer any song. Round Two goes to Melinda again. And finally, Round Three. Both Melinda and Jordin chose songs they performed on previous episodes. I don’t like when they do that. Blake is the only one who took a chance and sang “When I Get You Alone.” And for that I think he deserves to win Round Three. But it doesn’t matter who won what round. What matters is who moves on to the finale. And unfortunately, it’s not Melinda. America sent her home. It’s down to Blake and Jordin now. Who will be the next American Idol?
