The Real Housewives of New York City Premiere

It’s the Gossip Girls in 20 years. And, you know, Serena and Blair look good — way better than what happened to the O.C. girls (shudder). Fur-clad and trouble-ridden, the five original Housewives — Ramona the fashion socialite, Alex the Brooklyn bitch, LuAnn the countess, Jill the decorator and Bethenny, the one that appeared on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart — return for a second season, only to be greeted by new young blood. Enter: perfectly manicured cat claws. Greet: Kelly Bensimon, a designer, author, fashion editor and — WTF?! — a model (pictured left, looking confused). The new Housewife has much to learn from the five reigning queens of the Big Apple, who are used to applying their work-hard-party-hard ways to the juggle job required of a Real Housewife — career +children + social calendar — which, natch, includes a summer in the Hamptons this season ’round.
