Starring: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and Mark Strong
Directed by: Ridley Scott

In their fifth outing together, Ridley and Russell bring the grandeur and intensity of 2000’s Academy Award-winning Gladiator to this revisionist take on the medieval folk legend. Crowe plays an expert archer who, after returning from King Richard’s crusade to find England ravaged by corruption and on the brink of civil war, finds himself at the forefront of a popular uprising.
What We Think: A true dynamic duo of cinema, Scott and Crowe seldom let us down, but given the multitude of movies that have already featured Robin Hood and his merry men, they’ll have to offer something new to separate this film from the rest of the pack.

Cool to Know: At 45, Crowe is the oldest actor to have played Robin Hood in a movie. Sean Connery was nearly 45 when he portrayed an aging Robin in 1976‘s Robin and Marian.
