This is not a good week for behind the scene Hollywood heavyweights. 80’s mega-producer Stephen Cannell passed away Thursday night at home with his family. Famed for creating 21 Jump Street, The A-Team, and The Rockford Files (among many others) he wrote for many shows and also penned more than a dozen novels after retiring from television.
Perhaps though he is most well known for his production company’s logo which featured him at a typewriter, surrounded by awards, and throwing the finished page which morphed into the logo. This iconic image soon became the predominant image most associated with television writing. Needless to say, the often pantless and scruffy faced writers of the world offer their condolences to the man who classed up their profession.
