Director Luca Guadagnino is preparing to dip his toes into something a little different. The acclaimed Italian filmmaker, whose last feature film I Am Love starred Tilda Swinton, has just launched the first segment of Walking Stories, an eight-part web series starring Kaya Scodelario, Lauren Hutton, and Tom Ellis.
The first part in the ongoing series features the chance encounter of two long lost college friends who have obviously led very different lives after leaving school. Sarah looks like a Bohemian free spirit with a penchant for drawing on her body parts while her friend seems more focused on the upscale living and material things. The first episode ends on a cliffhanger after Sarah’s friend asks her how exactly she ended up in Florence in the first place. Judging from the trailer and the first part of the series, Walking Stories seems like a light and funny romantic comedy with a European flair.
