After forgetting about Tiger Woods almost entirely, we learned today that his divorce from Elin Nordegren has been finalized. People Magazine is reporting the two appeared at the Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Florida, to sign, seal, and deliver their-non love this morning.
The law firm representing Elin released a statement on behalf of the two of them, saying “We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us. Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”
Unfortunately, that means we won’t know how much money she’ll get, which cars she’ll get to keep, and which houses that contain his trophies she’ll be allowed to trash. Some say she could receive anywhere between $100 million and $500 million for her troubles. So…of course, his cheating on her with 14 different women is unfavorable. But can we honestly say $500 million won’t shave a few months off her grieving time?
