Even though she has a crazy busy schedule now that she’s depicting what happens when a zany girl lives with three guys in The New Girl, Zooey Deschanel took some time off from all that to sing the National Anthem at the fourth game of the World Series last night in Arlington, Texas. The announcer hilariously directed everyone’s attention to center field by proclaiming they should watch as Deschanel “honored America,” and even though Deschanel did a decent job of singing, I feel like it should be a little bit harder to “honor America” than just putting on a cheerleader/apron ensemble, reading a teleprompter without blinking and then hopping on a plane back to Los Angeles to drink some quirky juice and film your show. But she didn’t mess up the lyrics or cradle a blade of grass in her hands that she dressed in a double breasted suit, so that’s to her credit.
