LOS ANGELES, May 4, 2001 — While People magazine touts its 50 Most Beautiful list, Maxim has its own annual rankings…and they’re all female.
The men’s magazine’s second annual Hot 100 women issue was feted at a decadent Hollywood party at Moomba, where honorees and celebrity guests were in attendance.
Curiously, this year’s cover girl is Hot Number 87, Dr. Aki Ross. Here’s the thing: Aki isn’t even a real girl; she’s the computer-generated heroine (voiced by Ming-Na) of the upcoming summer flick Final Fantasy The Spirits Within. (But hey, whatever floats your boat.)
