There was never a more creative accompaniment to a medieval jousting tale
than writer/director/producer Brian Helgeland’s ’70s rock music anthems in A Knight’s Tale. And believe me–it really works.

A Knight’s Tale will please audiences who grew up listening to rock legends like Queen, David Bowie and Eric Clapton, and at the same time, it will give those who might have missed these bands (the majority of the movie’s audience, no doubt) the opportunity to relate to the real roots of rock and roll.
In the past, singers like Axl Rose and George Michael have attempted to fill in for the irreplaceable Freddy Mercury when performing songs by the historic band Queen. But these guys don’t hold a candle to British pop star Robbie Williams, who performs “We Are the Champions” on the soundtrack. (No. I’m not kidding.)
In addition to Williams’s Queen redux, you’ll find Heart’s “Close to You,” Dan Powell’s “Pieces,” and Third Eye Blind’s “Eye Conqueror,” all worth a listen.
