After a 12-year run, it’s still hard to believe that Rent is no longer on Broadway. That Roger lit Mimi’s candle for the last time. That Mark and Joanne won’t “Tango” with the words “she cheated” again. But if you’re still mourning Angel like we are, this DVD is for you: It’s the final Broadway performance of Jonathan Larson’s revolutionary musical — filmed Sept. 7, 2008 — in Blu-ray detail (trust, you’ve never had seats this good for less than 40 bucks). Bonus features include 60 minutes of exclusive backstage stuff like a retrospective documentary featuring the cast and crew, cast members (old and new) singing “Seasons of Love” together for a final hurrah, plus a behind-the-scenes look at the famed Nederlander Theater that was transformed into the home of Rent (don’t tell, but making rent was never a problem for these guys).
