The Universe, Season 3 DVDs
(Tuesday, May 26, 2009)
Not unlike Discovery Channel’s Planet Earth, our geeky awe for life forms beyond our imagination extends to outerspace, too. The History Channel’s counterpart series, The Universe, satisfies our galaxy-wide curiosities that reach past that man-landing-on-moon tale. All of season 3 is on DVD today — that’s 700 minutes of uninterrupted space knowledge that we dare you to try and repeat your favorite lines like you do movies. Whether it’s your first, second or 25th viewing, it’s still mind-boggling to learn about the hypothetical Planet X, the possibility of terrifying cosmic collisions, plus, having sex in space. (Other noteworthy episodes include: Stopping Armageddon, Alien Faces and Parallel Universes.) The Universe on DVD never depreciates in value — because this is 411 that, frankly, you’ll never become an expert in. Plus, DVD means … bonus features! And naturally, it’s boasting must-see additional footage.
