Don’t you want to get inside the head of the kickass woman that turned Twilight into something oh-so-wonderfully visual? The person who was single-handedly responsible for bringing the world’s most perfect vampire-boyfriend (ahem, Edward Cullen, aka Robert Pattinson) into an object of perfectly-coifed lust? Well, today, 176 pages worth of director Catherine Hardwicke‘s Twilight-only brain is available in hardcover. It depicts “the story of how we made the movie based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer” and is chock-full of never-before-seen photographs of Hardwicke with her cast on the make-believe set of Forks, Washington. A former production designer on movies like Three Kings and Vanilla Sky, Hardwicke offers up gorgeous sketches of how she imagined the Cullens’ golden-hued eyes to look, or the scene in which Edward stops a moving car with his bare hand to save Bella’s life. Plus, personal little notes of her favorite scenes, casting secrets and more. Hardwicke said, “My challenge was to translate Stephenie’s powerful book and make you feel what she makes you feel when you read her words.”
