Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic DVD
(Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2009)
The natural (lazy) progression from books on CD is, of course, books on — DVD. Usually, that would mean we’re talking about the movie already, but not so fast — ever wish you could watch an actual comic book play out in hi-def? A superduper comic like, say … Watchmen? That’s right; worry no more about those greasy fingerprints devaluing your sacred little book still in its protective clear sleeve. Instead, with palms resting behind your head, watch a five-hour “movie” of the original 1980s comic book play out without the effort of a single page turn (OK, you’ll have to switch to disc two eventually … ). From the mysterious demise of the Comedian to the paths-crossing of a bunch of comrade-y superheroes, see for yourself why so many directors before Zach Snyder were all too stumped to make the movie; and three days later, we’ll see if the 300 helmer handled the feat with a great big smiley face — and thus, leaving one on ours.
