Max Keeble’s Big Move
The Players: Alex D. Linz, Robert Carradine, Nora Dunn, Larry Miller; directed by Tim Hill.
The Skinny: Max (Linz) is a seventh grade “nerd” who is thrilled to find out his family is planning to move to Chicago thanks to his father’s job promotion. With only a week to go before he leaves, it’s payback time for all the bullies (including the school principal) who’ve done him wrong, and Max suddenly has carte blanche to wreak havoc. But when Dad’s promotion falls through, the boy must deal with the consequences of his actions.
The Bottom Line: Who didn’t harbor fantasies of doing this very thing as a kid? Exacting sweet revenge on your most hated enemies was the stuff junior high dreams were made of. This might be just the fun, escapist movie for kids–and even some adults–to see to get a break from the recent tragic events in the news.
Opens: Oct. 5
