Thirteen Ghosts
The Players: Shannon Elizabeth, Tony Shalhoub, F. Murray Abraham, Matthew Lillard, Embeth Davidtz; directed by Steve Beck
The Skinny: A widower (Shalhoub), trying to raise his teenage daughter (Elizabeth), moves his family into a huge new mansion made of glass. Little do they know their new home is haunted. Oh, the horror.
The Bottom Line: John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars, The Glass House–seems to be a running theme lately to have glass and ghosts around. And wasn’t Elizabeth already in a Scary Movie? Oh, right, that was a parody…guess now she’s aiming for the real thing. Too bad. This is the second remake of a William Castle film by producers Joel Silver and Robert Zemeckis, who collaborated on the 1999 House on Haunted Hill–and look how well that film did.
Opens: Oct. 26
