Gross Encounters: Poll Results!

Like the presidential election, the results eventually do come in. And like the presidential election outcome, the results may leave a really bad taste in your mouth.

Check out the voting!

We gave you the 10 most disgusting, gross-out moments in movie history, and you responded. (Boy, did you respond. Your submissions of scenes we left out appear at the bottom of this roundup.) You spent many seconds of your hard-earned leisure time to give us your thoughts, your emotions, your best-kept secrets … OK, so that’s a little over-melodramatic.

Nonetheless, you voted for the most disgusting gross-out moment in cinematic history, and the winner is…

American Pie, Seann William Scott drinks semen-laced beer!

Now that’s truly disgusting. American Pie garnered 38 percent of the electorate, almost three times the percentage that its closest competitor received.

Only three other films received double digits of the electorate. Trainspotting‘s toilet diving scene made a splash with 12.8 percent of the votes, while Freddy Got Fingered and Road Trip split the bronze medal position with 11.7 percent.

Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life rounded out the top five, earning 7.4 percent of your mouse clicks. Cameron Diaz‘s use of a rather unusual hair gel in There’s Something About Mary got little attention from voters, placing sixth with 6.9 percent.

Dumb and Dumber‘s diarrhea skit eked past Stand By Me‘s classic puke scene to gain the seventh spot with 4.5 percent of the votes, just a hair better than the 4.4 percent that Stand By Me was able to corral.

Mel Brooks saved some face by finishing ninth. Blazing Saddles‘s tooting beans scene captured just 1.9 percent, but that was a much better showing than John Belushi‘s zit gag in National Lampoon’s Animal House, which didn’t even break 1 percent of the voting public.

Some voters, however, felt that we missed a couple of the grossest scenes in filmdom.

Faithful Hollywood.com user “Cerulean” was first to chime in with Nicolas Cage‘s waterbug ingesting scene in 1989’s Vampire’s Kiss. “Tmdivan” seconded this.

Eharrison, writing from England, cited Kevin and Perry Go Large. The girls endure a self-inflicted beauty regime of spot-bursting, clipping filthy toenails and shaving clumps of hair from their backs, legs and bikini lines, all in devastating close-up as “The Look Of Love,” sung by Gladys Knight, plays in the background.

Austin Powers accidentally drinks feces (and proclaims it “a bit nutty”) in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, was brought up by “Sean.”

“Alexteich” chimed in with John WatersPink Flamingos. Despite the whole movie being a potential candidate, Divine‘s eating dog feces was singled out as the grossest scene in an incredibly gross film.
