‘Heroes’ Recap: Ep. 4

[IMG:L]Now we are getting somewhere with this show…

9:01: Mohinder is shedding his skin; it’s not pretty.

9:05: The doctor Tracy visits tells her she is one of three identical triplets: Tracy, Nikki and Barbara. Wait, Barbara? There’s another one? Tracy then finds out her DNA was manipulated. Well, duh.

9:07: Matt wants to see his future in which he is carrying a dead woman. The African dude shows him the way by making him eat a bowl of nasty stuff and plugging into his iPod. Suddenly, Matt’s eyes go white and he is transformed to…

9:11: …four years in the future. The overacting Peters have just landed in New York, and it looks like everyone has powers, people flying all over the place. The formula has been turned into an injection that anyone with money can get in order to gain a power. “Abilities are the new weapon of choice,” future Peter warns and tells his brother he has to find Sylar and gain his “power.” Suddenly, future Peter is shot in the head, the one and only place to kill Peter, by a severe-looking Claire. Present-day Peter escapes.

9:12: Speedster (her name’s Daphne but I like calling her that), Claire and Knox are standing over the dead future Peter. They have to go after the present-day Peter–and Molly is the only one who can help them locate him.

9:13: Hiro and Ando are in a cell at the Company lab, present day. Ando is pissed Hiro doesn’t trust him. Ah, the dissention begins.

9:15: Senator Petrelli, having imaginary conversations with Linderman. Cuckoo!

9:17: Mohinder and Maya having their first argument. She wants to go play but he’s too busy FINDING ANSWERS! And creating some formula that’s going to end the world. Again. He fears what he is “becoming.” I do, too.

9:19: Present-day Peter goes to visit future Mohinder, who is now hiding because he’s apparently “become”–and it STILL isn’t pretty. But Peter gets what he came for–the whereabouts of Sylar, who is now living at the Bennet’s house in Costa Verde. Interesting. So, Peter goes there to find Sylar in some kind of weird domestic situation, making pancakes for his small child, Noah. Who calls Peter “Uncle Peter?” Oh right, because Peter and Sylar are brothers.

9:24: Sylar realizes this isn’t the same Peter, but the Peter from the past (I sure hope this is making sense). Sylar has changed, too. Now, he’s simply Gabriel, who has overcome his demons for the sake of his son and fights the monster within. Who in the hell had sex with Sylar? I can’t wait to find that one out.

9:26: OK, looks like Speedster and Matt are man and wife in the future, with a baby. A really BIG baby, by the way. Molly is with them, too. They need her to help them find Peter, who is now considered a terrorist. Matt wants her to settle down, but she is determined to find Peter and stop him.

9:32: We are talking major confrontation at the Bennet house. Claire, Knox and Speedster show up, wanting to take Peter away. Claire is fully prepared to kill Peter, who is incredulous. “How did you become like this?,” he asks her. A fight ensues and the boy is killed in the process, which basically sends Sylar/Gabriel into an apocalyptic rage. No, I mean literally; he blows everything sky high in a mushroom cloud.

9:36: Hiro wants to escape through the air vent. Ando helps but he isn’t going with him because he thinks Hiro doesn’t want him around. Just as Hiro is about to climb out through the air vent, the Haitian appears.

9:39: Mohinder is getting gooier and gooier.

9:40: Tracy resigns because she just can’t take it anymore, all this freezing-by-the-touch thing. She knows what she has to do now. Just as she jumps off the building, Nathan catches her in mid-flight. So now she knows he has a power–and then she shows him hers. And all this sharing makes them kiss.

9:46: Back to the future. President Petrelli is giving a news conference about the tragedy at Costa Verde, with the First Lady Tracy by his side. Cut to a lab with present-day Peter strapped to a table, Claire walks in with the Haitian, who stops his powers. Of course, they didn’t blow up in the blast because they can’t die. Claire is pissed, man, and wants to inflict pain on Peter for every death he caused. President Nathan stops her, however and tells his daughter he wants to be alone with his brother.

9:49: Peter doesn’t trust his brother, but Nathan is trying to tell him he thinks there’s a goodness in man. Nathan wants Peter to read his mind. But Peter is feeling the Sylar hunger and almost kills him. He teleports out of there in a fast hurry.

9:51: To Sylar in present day, in his cell at the Company lab. Sylar knows Peter has his hunger now. His brother. Such a soap opera.

9:54: Matt’s still in the trance, witnessing the future. He and Molly are watching the aftermath of the Coste Verde disaster on TV. Speedster shows up, but she says she wasn’t fast enough. She got burned badly and dies in Matt’s arms. Matt wakes up. He’s got to find his “totem,” his guide, to help him make it through. So he ends up following a turtle. Oy.

9:57: Hiro and Ando in Angela Petrelli’s office. She’s telling them about the formula that will give people powers, and now that it is in the hands of the bad guys, Hiro is the only one who can stop this–the key to unlocking the entire mystery. Someone is manipulating them, someone powerful.

9:59: Ando and Hiro are digging up a grave: It’s Adam’s grave and when they open the coffin, he is none-too-pleased to see Hiro.
