Set in Steinbeck’s birthplace of Salinas, two brother in a California farm family struggle to maintain their strict, Bible-toting father’s favor.

Based on the novel “East of Eden” written by John Steinbeck; published by Viking Press 1952.
Remake of “East of Eden” (USA/1955) directed by Elia Kazan and starring James Dean.
Project will return to the pages of Steinbeck’s classic novel, rather than do a straight remake of the Warner Bros. film.
