Tomb Raider review

HOLLYWOOD July, 2001 – There is no better way to complement the package to an action film than adding a soundtrack that is just as exciting. Two singles–U2’s remix of “Elevation” and Nine Inch Nails’ dark, obscure “Deep”–could very well guarantee outstanding album sales.

NIN’s Trent Reznor recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he was hesitant about being involved in the soundtrack to the film because he tends to shy away from blockbuster movies.

“It turned out that I’ve been working on songs for a new [NIN] record, and one of them seemed applicable,” he said.

Electronica fans will recognize some big names on the credits: Moby, The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim serve up songs so hypnotizing you’ll want to get out your neon sticks and spend the night at a rave.

The unorthodox hip-hop on the collection will stick in your head day after day-in the best way-especially Missy Elliott and Nelly Furtado’s naughty remix of “Get Ur Freak On” and Outkast’s urgently hyper-funk tune, “Speedballin’.”

Tomb Raider was executive produced by Lawrence Gordon, Lloyd Levin and Simon West.
