How She Did in Our Poll Last Year: This is Kate’s first time gracing the sexy star poll. After starring in a handful of lackluster romantic comedies, Kate got everyone’s attention in 2003 with the sci-fi thriller Underworld, and our pollsters agreed–she rocked the screen!

Sexiest Role: Hands down, Underworld–a glossy supernatural thriller with Romeo and Juliet overtones. As a vampire embroiled in her race’s ongoing feud with a werewolf clan, Kate falls in love with a blood enemy, and with her shiny black hair, icy blue eyes and head-to-toe leather getup, she’s hot–fangs, claws and all!

Sexiest Scene: Maybe it wasn’t the best movie of 2001, but the love scene in Pearl Harbor between Kate and hottie Josh Hartnett sizzles. In the film, Kate plays a U.S. Navy nurse who falls in love with a dashing pilot (Ben Affleck), but when news of his death arrives, she turns to his best friend (Josh Hartnett) for comfort. Comfort, in this case, means a steamy sex scene that shows Josh and Kate kissin’, caressin’ and getting nearly nekked; Josh is buff and shirtless while Kate is in a slip.

Physical Feature We Love: It has to be Kate’s pout, the one she perfected so well in Underworld. What man (or woman) could resist those lips?

In Her Future: Kate’s slate is pretty booked! The actress will next be starring opposite Hugh Jackman in the highly anticipated thriller Van Helsing, based on Bram Stoker’s fabled monster hunter, Dr. Abraham Van Helsing, due out in May. She will also be reprising her role as Selene in the second installment of the Underworld trilogy, which goes into production this fall.

How He Did in Our Poll Last Year: No.1! This year, however, Viggo lost some ground in our poll to Matrix star Keanu Reeves. Seems we’d rather see our men fighting futuristic machines than evil wizards.

Sexiest Role: Again, Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy–and he only seems to get better with each one, as he demonstrated in Return of the King. He was, however, pretty manly as a Pony Express rider in Hidalgo. Either way, we just like to see Viggo on horseback.

Sexiest Scene: It may not have been steamy in an R-rated kind of way, but Aargon and Arwen’s nuptials in The Lord of the Ring: The Return of the King were pretty darn sexy, especially since the two have that whole tortured-love vibe going on. After all, Arwen gives up her immortality to be with this guy–that has to mean something!

Physical Feature We Love: It’s a combination of those piercing blue eyes, the chiseled square jaw and the peppered gray accents in his hair that make him such a studly yet distinguished gentleman.

In His Future: In January, Viggo will start production in Spain on The Adventures of Captain Altriste, a film based on a series of novels by author Arturo Perez-Reverte about the Spanish Inquisition.
