HOLLYWOOD, Sept. 27, 2002 — Want to find the latest star-powered hot spot to hit Hollywood Boulevard? Look no further than Tinseltown’s latest hip new nightclub Ivar, just a hop down the street from the famed intersection of Hollywood and Vine.
Ivar’s grand opening was jam-packed with flesh-friendly celebs looking to get their groove on in a brand-new scene–a 14,000-square-foot marvel of modern architecture with 25-foot-tall ceilings, exposed brick walls, spacious dance floor, outdoor veranda, balconies, and the coup de grace: three two-floor circular towers of private booths.
Filling the huge space were The Practice‘s Lara Flynn Boyle, Jessica Capshaw and Marla Sokoloff; NYPD Blue‘s Charlotte Ross, Playboy cover girl Kylie Bax, supermodel Rachel Hunter and her ex-stepdaughter Kimberly Stewart, ex-Mr. J. Lo Cris Judd, 8 Mile‘s Taryn Manning, Roswell‘s Shiri Appleby, veteran club crawler Mickey Rourke, Jennifer Esposito, Enterprise‘s Linda Park, famous-for-being-famous Paris Hilton, Jimmy Buffett‘s daughter Savanah Jane, Tangi Miller, rockers Puddle of Mudd, Laura Orrico (whom you’ll spot in Charlie’s Angels 2) and many, many more.
The scene was so hot it almost seemed like an otherworldly fantasy: Dina Meyer took a break from the fictional worlds of Birds of Prey and Star Trek: Nemesis to get down with her bad self on the dance floor, while no less than Spider-Man himself, Tobey Maguire, was spotted wandering nearby on his own, chatting indecipherably into his cell phone over the blaring disco music. Now how’s that for Hollywood?
