Cruise returns to work after spending more than a year away from the big screen (his last feature was 2008’s Valkyrie) in this action comedy, in which he plays a highly-skilled assassin who winds up paired with a reluctant hottie (Diaz) while on the run from government authorities.
What We Think: Mangold boasts a solid pedigree (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma), but we can’t help but wonder if this derivative-looking flick is just Cruise’s warm-up for Mission: Impossible 4.
Cool to Know: Knight and Day marks the second time Cruise and Diaz have paired on-screen; the first was 2001’s Vanilla Sky. And we all know how that one turned out.
