HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 26, 2000 — It was a star-studded day in Hollywood as some of the city’s biggest celebrities came out for the first annual Super Saturday L.A.
Calista Flockhart, Christian Slater, Jane Seymour, Claudia Schiffer, Milla Jovovich and Janine Green were just a few of the stars on hand to show their support and help to raise money for the fight against ovarian cancer.
The all-day event, hosted by Tracey Ullman, L’Oreal, Purple Skirt and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, featured a designer garage sale, carnival rides, games, cocktails and entertainment.
More than 75 designers, including BCBG Max Azria, Donna Karan, Betsey Johnson, Halston, William B, Jill Stuart and Tommy Hilfiger, offered high-end fashions for 30% to 75% off retail prices. Jon Lovitz and Peter Boyle announced the winners of a raffle, and Ullman helped with an exciting live auction of one-of-a-kind items.
Super Saturday L.A. was no doubt super successful, raising more than $600,000. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s Liz Tilberis Scholars Program for Excellence in Ovarian Cancer Research as well as Cedars Sinai Medical Center and UCLA Medical Center.
