Saboteur (4/24/42)
Groundbreaking because it was Mr. Hitchcock’s first film with an all-American cast, this wartime thriller centers on plant worker Barry Kane (Robert Cummings), who is wrongfully accused of firebombing the plant in which he works. Kane then embarks on a cross-country chase to find the man he believes to be the real saboteur, the mysterious Frank Fry (Norman Lloyd). The chase, which begins in Colora do, culminates in a classic scene atop the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

Shadow of a Doubt (1/12/43)
A snapshot of a seemingly quiet life, Santa Rosa, California is the town the Newton family calls home. But “Young Charlie” Newton (Teresa Wright) decides it needs some enlivening and calls her uncle, also named Charlie (Joseph Cotton). But the similarities end there, as Young Charlie suspects her uncle is a serial killer on the run from the law. Uncle Charlie, meanwhile, reluctantly take matters into his own hands.

Inspired by a real-life murder case, two young New York apartment dwellers (John Dall and Farley Granger) conspire to murder their friend. After going through with the slaying, the duo decides to throw a party…for the deceased’s family, friends and former schoolteacher, Rupert (James Stewart). But problems and suspicion arise when Rupert becomes suspicious of the boys’ inspiration for the strangling.

But pleasure turns to obsession when he believes one of those neighbors has murdered his wife. He enlists his girlfriend, Lisa (Grace Kelly), to investigate, setting up one of the most gripping endings ever.

The Trouble with Harry (10/3/55)
In a movie that introduced the world to Shirley MacLaine, Mr. Hitchcock again proves himself unafraid to take risks. He mixes a little comedy with his suspense for this offbeat thriller in which the body of a man named Harry is found–and repeatedly exposed for all to see–in the woods of a small, quiet New England town. Problem is, nearly all of the town’s inhabitants think they had something to do with the mysterious death.

Ben and Jo McKenna (James Stewart and Doris Day) take their son vacationing to Morocco–when heaven turns into hell. After a mysterious French spy dies in Ben’s arms, the couple’s toddler is kidnapped by assassins who believe Ben has been informed of a secret assassination set to take place in London. Ben and Jo stop at nothing to get their son back.
