You bet! We’ve just got to find out what happens to happy-go-lucky Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) and her rotund mother (John Travolta) as they head into the ‘60s music scene. Director Adam Shankman had signed on again to direct the sequel, while the “master of the perverse” John Waters, as Cinematical.com calls him, is going to come up with the basic concept. “[The ‘60s] was super-political, it was a time of serious change. We’re trying to track, in a comedic way, the historical elements” Shankman told Entertainment Weekly. This will include the British Invasion, which attracts Link’s (Zac Efron) attention. I’ll get out my dancing shoes in anticipation.

THE ROAD TO ROME
Rome was simply one of the best things HBO ever did. As told through the eyes of two fictitious Roman soldiers — Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) and Titus Pullo (Ray Stevenson) — we watched how Julius Caesar, Marc Antony, Cleopatra and the rest contributed to the fall of Rome. But because of the show’s high production costs, HBO cancelled it after two seasons (something apparently they now regret — and rightly so). Now there’s hope. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rome creator Bruno Heller may be allowed to tie up all the historical loose ends in a feature film. Yes please! Thing is, Heller had mapped out five seasons. “I discovered halfway through writing the second season the show was going to end,” he told the Reporter. “The second was going to end with death of Brutus. Third and fourth season would be set in Egypt. Fifth was going to be the rise of the messiah in Palestine. But because we got the heads-up that the second season would be it, I telescoped the third and fourth season into the second one, which accounts for the blazing speed we go through history near the end. There’s certainly more than enough history to go around.”

A FAME REMAKE? WHY?
Seriously, do these people really have nothing better to do? Apparently not. Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally and Bebe Neuwirth have all accepted roles as the instructors and supervisors in the upcoming Fame remake, Variety reports. Basically, the plot will be the same as the 1980 original because if the High School Musicals of the world have taught us anything, people like to watch teens sing and dance in school.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Helen Hunt and Liev Schreiber will play a married couple in turmoil in the Richard Levine-directed drama Every Day. They’ll be joined by Carla Gugino, as a co-worker who tempts Schreiber (the harlot!), as well as Eddie Izzard and Brian Dennehy. Let’s hope there’s a lot more to it than that.

BILLY RAY’S A SPY?
He can’t go on playing Miley Cyrus’ real-life father forever. Billy Ray Cyrus wants something to call his own after riding the coattails of his ginormously popular daughter. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he’ll be joining George Lopez and Amber Valletta in Jackie Chan‘s upcoming comedy The Spy Next Door. Chan plays a man who helps out his neighbors by babysitting their children. In a twist of bad luck for the guy, one accidentally downloads a code and he must protect the tykes from secret agents, i.e. Cyrus and Lopez. Wait, is Cyrus going to attempt some kung-fu moves?

TIDBITS FROM BEVERLY HILLS COP 4
I’ve found a scoop on the plotline for the upcoming BHC4. The Latino Review managed to snag a draft of the movie but weren’t too impressed by it. According to their C+ rating (which includes spoilers, so watch out), the actioner looks to be a combination of the original Beverly Hills Cop and Hitch, with Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) trying to figure out who killed one of his friends, all while helping his new, fat partner score with some girl he has a crush on. Since Murphy is reported as not being so keen on the idea, however, this might not be the end product.
