TV Ratings: CBS reruns hold strong

What is it about CBS reruns that make them summertime Nielsens winners?

C.S.I., Everybody Loves Raymond and Becker all fared extremely well in the standings–as they have all summer–beating out CBS’s new heavy-hitter, Big Brother 2, which barely made the top 25.

Clearly, things really are better the second time around. While audiences missed many of CBS’s flagship shows during the spring, the recent second helping was well received. Also, Raymond is currently generating more Emmys buzz than any other sitcom out there.

Back at the top of the heap, though–yet again–stood Regis Philbin and ABC, though NBC’s Weakest Link gained some steam.

And one can’t look past the stellar ratings for the Daytona 400, broadcast on NBC. Is Formula One and NASCAR racing truly becoming viewers’ favorite sport?
