You’re not nearly afraid enough.
Like a moth to flame, for some reason we’re actually drawn to vampires. Of course, they just see us as packages of sweet, warm, nourishing blood–or, as they like to call us: lunch.

Maybe it’s because they’re super-cool and ultra-sexy. Maybe it’s the black clothing. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s the elegance and self-confidence we see in them that can only be born of living forever.
Given that criteria, it seems George Hamilton really is a vampire.
We’ve assembled some of our favorite neck-biting bloodsuckers of all time. You get to vote for your most favorite, but do it during the day, when there’s PLENTY of sunlight. We wouldn’t want you to be attacked by those you didn’t choose.

Why we like him: Although he plays an actor in the film, he’s really a cunning, blood-sucking vampire at heart. He’s always in control. Always. |
Vampire: Leslie Nielsen as Count Dracula
Biting the Big Screen in: Dracula: Dead and Loving It
Why we like him: He’s sort of like Dracula’s long lost screwed-up twin brother who sure picks up a lot of good-looking blood along the way. |
Vampire: Kiefer Sutherland as David
Biting the Big Screen in: Lost Boys
Why we like him: Hardly a recluse, this vampire shows two brothers what it means to take full advantage of a typical teen “sleep all day” rest pattern, by partying–and feeding–all night. |
Vampire:Aaliyah as Akasha
Biting the Big Screen in: Queen of the Damned
Why we like her:Basically because she’s drop-dead gorgeous. Her character isn’t as well-developed as we would have preferred, but she sure knows how to strut around, snarl a lot and strike sexy poses. That’s more than good enough. |
Vampire:Wesley Snipes as Blade
Biting the Big Screen in: Blade, Blade 2
Why we like him: Blade is the ultimate exception when it comes to vampires. Although he fights for good to ward off evil-doers, his half human/half vampire bloodline causes him to ride the line between good and evil. Blade has to be careful about giving into weakness that could turn him toward the “dark side” at any time. |
Vampire: Gary Oldman as Prince Vlad Dracula
Biting the Big Screen in: Bram Stoker’s Dracula
Why we like him:Vlad is the prototype for all other Draculas. His character, who is quite faithful to Bram Stoker’s novel, is a romantic spectacle: he has waited centuries for the return of his dead wife, and when he thinks he has found her, he’ll do anything to procure her. |
