The Players: Rob Schneider, Rachel McAdams, Anna Faris, Matthew Lawrence; directed by Tom Brady (debut)
The Skinny: A popular, mean-spirited teenage girl (McAdams) wakes up one day to find herself turned into a man in his 30s–namely Schneider. As she tries to figure out what happened and how to get back into her body, she discovers more about herself and her shallow, cruel behavior.
The Bottom Line: Brady is a first-time director but Schneider‘s longtime collaborator (he wrote The Animal and the short-lived TV series Men Behaving Badly), so at least you get the idea Brady knows how to handle his star. The premise sounds silly–but isn’t that why we see broad comedies?
