The Life of David Gale
The Players: Kevin Spacey, Laura Linney, Kate Winslet, Gabriel Mann, Rhona Mitra; directed by Alan Parker (Mississippi Burning)
The Skinny: Dr. David Gale (Spacey), a Texas professor and anti-death penalty advocate, ironically sits on death row himself after he is falsely convicted of the rape and murder of another activist (Linney). He tells his story to a reporter (Winslet), and the movie unfolds in a series of flashbacks.
The Bottom Line: One wonders about the February release, as the high-profile cast and topic almost beg for awards-season attention. Anything Spacey is in (and Winslet, and Linney, for that matter), is definitely worth checking out.
