The Sin Eater

The Skinny: A young priest sets out to solve the mystery of his mentor’s strange death that appears to be caused by the last “sin eater.” See, in ancient Christianity, there really was an order of priests called “sin eaters” that could absolve one’s sins by “eating” them in a ceremony that entailed eating food off the sinner’s corpse. Mmmm.
The Bottom Line: Despite the unfortunate reteaming of Ledger and Sossamon (it certainly didn’t work for the director the first time ’round), the story sounds cool and could be nice n’ creepy if done properly.
