Last year, we got word that Diane Keaton was joining Ed Harris for the romantic comedy The Look of Love—but now, Hollywood.com has learned that the movie recently swapped one legendary actress for another.
Stepping in to fill Keaton’s shoes is Annette Bening, who was most recently nominated for her work in the indie dramedy The Kids Are All Right. Bening will play Niki, a widow who falls for a new man who looks identical to her deceased husband. Harris is still on board the project, as well as writer/director Arie Posin. Funnyman Robin Williams has also joined the cast.
Posin’s previous film The Chumscrubber dabbled in serious issues while delivering on the laughs and The Look of Love sounds like could do more of the same. Even in her older years, Bening has continued to take risks and draw comedy out of the heaviest situations, making her a perfect fit for the role (we love Diane Keaton, but she doesn’t exactly have the same danger). The Look of Love is aiming for a Spring shoot and should find its way into theaters in 2013.
