From producer Jordan Peele and Monkey Paw Productions comes a twisted new take on terror—HIM hits theaters September 19.
HIM follows a rising football star (Tyriq Withers) who’s mentored by a legendary quarterback (Marlon Wayans) on the verge of retirement. Though the team kept early details under wraps, the surprise CinemaCon reveal and eerie first teaser confirm it—this film dives into much darker territory than fans imagined.
Originally titled GOAT, the film’s official description is:
“HIM stars former college wide-receiver Tyriq Withers (Atlanta, the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer) as Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life, and identity, to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma.
Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans), a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar, offers to train Cam at Isaiah’s isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie White (Julia Fox; Uncut Gems, No Sudden Move). But as Cam’s training accelerates, Isaiah’s charisma begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for.”

HIM is Just the Beginning: Expect Much More From Jordan Peele
Oscar winner Jordan Peele will be co-producing HIM alongside Ian Cooper (Nope, Us), Win Rosenfeld (Candyman) and Jamal M. Watson (Hala, Sprinter) under Monkeypaw Productions. Executive producers include David Kern (The Bikeriders, Flamin’ Hot) and Monkeypaw’s Kate Oh.
Jordan Peele will release his next film on October 23, 2026, after industry strikes pushed it back from its original December 2024 date. Details about the plot and cast remain under wraps, consistent with Peele’s tradition of maintaining secrecy around his projects
Jordan Peele is also collaborating with game designer Hideo Kojima on OD, an upcoming horror video game for Xbox. The game aims to explore the concept of “overdosing on fear” and will utilize cloud gaming technology to deliver a unique, immersive experience.
