Remember that weird looking alien dude in the Green Lantern trailer from a month ago? You only saw him for a brief moment, but he was one of the Green Lanterns welcoming Ryan Reynolds‘ character to their world.
According to Daily Blam, his name is Tomar-Re, and he’s from the planet Xudar — home of a peaceful avian race. His background led to the Guardians of the Universe to appoint him as the archivist and protector of the Book of Oa (and for those who have no background in the comic books, the Book of Oa is a handbook for the Green Lantern Corps — containing everything from principles to prophesies).
Anyway, below is a photo of Tomar-Re where he’s either a.) creating some type of light-focused ball above his hand that will no doubt do something important or b.) extending for the oddest handshake ever.
Green Lantern hits theaters on June 17, 2010.
