Normally when a film lacks a director or a script and its release is less than 10 months away, it’s cause for alarm. But when said film is the latest chapter in Paramount’s super-cheap — and astonishingly successful — Paranormal Activity franchise, it’s s.o.p. The studio announced today that Paranormal Activity 4 will open on October 19 of this year, leaving producers more than enough time to recruit a cast of once-and-future unknowns and cobble together a new collection of found-footage scares. Frankly, we’re impressed they’re getting started so early.
