There’s absolutely nothing that can fill the hole in our hearts left by the closing of California’s Tower of Terror. The Disney theme park staple shut down in January to make way for new and more trendy things — mainly, stuff from Marvel.
We’ve got say, if there is one thing that comes close to easing the pain of losing Tower of Terror, it’s how cool the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride looks.
Disney has outfitted the old Tower of Terror structure into an spiffed up attraction that looks less like a haunted hotel and way, way more like the comic book power plant “The Collector’s Fortress.” The ride, called Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout, is still a free-fall ride the Tower of Terror was, so thankfully, we get the same thing but in a shiny, new package.
Checkout the video above for an inside look at Disney’s new ride. The ride is set to open in the summer of 2017, following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s theatrical release in May.
