The release date for Channing Tatum‘s upcoming film Magic Mike will be released June 29, 2012 — the same date as another upcoming Channing Tatum film, G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
Magic Mike, which is in the news almost weekly for its casting additions, is loosely based on Tatum’s real-life experiences as a male stripper before he became an actor. Steven Soderbergh is directing.
Tatum isn’t the only movie star with two films due for release on the same day in 2012: Leonardo DiCaprio‘s The Great Gatsby and Django Unchained will square off against each other on Christmas Day.
