Zac Efron Making Moves At WB

ALTZac Efron is now officially old enough to start complaining about work instead of High School. The Disney star is set to star and produce a workplace comedy for WB written by 17 Again collaborator Jason Filardi. The untitled comedy will be Efron’s first outing as a producer with his newly-formed production company, which he named Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Productions in order to remind everyone that he’s 22. Former Fox exec Jason Young has signed on as head of development for NRW, which sounds much more professional when you use initials.

The workplace comedy is the first of many potential projects for NRW, which has been aggressively seeking out new projects for Efron to produce and star in. Future projects include Art of the Steal, about a master thief; Einstein Theory, a time-travel tale; Fire, an adaptation of a graphic novel about a college student recruited into the CIA; and Snabba Cash, a remake of a Swiss thriller. All in all, it represents a shift for Efron into more adult and action fare, and away from the chaste singing and dancing that made him famous. Though if Efron is really trying to seem more adult, he may not want to start with movies like Charlie St. Cloud.
