UPDATE: NBC announced at their upfronts that thirteen episodes of Community will air during the midseason lineup.
Depending on whether you loved or loathed Season 4 of NBC’s polarizing Community, this news means we’re either in the brightest or darkest timeline. NBC just announced that the cult fave series has officially been picked up for a fifth season.
This news comes after the Peacock cancelled many of its other comedies, including 1600 Penn, Go On, Up All Night, Guys With Kids, and Whitney. The finale of Community actually matched American Idol‘s rating in the 18-34 demo. This news also means fans of the show are one step closer to making #sixseasonsandamovie a reality.
