End of the road?
It was touch and go for young Sam on this weeks episode of October Road. After eating peanut butter icing at Alison’s birthday party, he ends up needing emergency surgery to save his life. There was an intense scene when Owen explained to Hannah it was his fault Sam ate the icing. At first, it looked like she was going to give him the typical all-is-forgiven-hug but instead she slaps him across the face. They both stand there stunned and all he could say is “I know. I know.” It was as if they are having a conversation where words weren’t needed. And THEN came the hug. Meanwhile, Physical Phil sends Eddie and Owen across the street to the college fraternity to rough up some guys who got fresh with his new girlfriend–the pizza delivery girl. She’s not happy about this and breaks things off because he can’t fight his own battles. Did anyone really expect this relationship to work out? He doesn’t leave the house. Ikey and Alison also call it quits after they realize how much they both stand to lose if someone finds out about their affair. It’s too bad Big Cat sees them share their last kiss. Back at the hospital, Sam comes through surgery with no complications and is on the road to recovery. In next week’s season finale, Nick must choose between Hannah and Aubrey. This doesn’t look good for the series, since it only aired six episodes.
The dynasty crumples
The girls are put through yet another boot camp work-out on The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman and they aren’t happy about it. Bevin takes a nasty spill during the obstacle course and thinks she may have broken her ankle. At first, it looked like she was just trying to get attention, pulling a serious Nancy Kerrigan bit and crying out “Why me?” But when the camera zoomed in, it was obvious she was in a lot of pain. Suddenly, in true prince charming fashion, Andy comes running towards her. Someone, who is not visible on camera, (probably a producer) asks, “Are you the medic?” Uhh…does a medic run around carrying a rose and have a smile as bright as the sun? In a deep manly soap opera voice, Andy replies, “No, I’m the doctor.” DUN, DUN, DUN. That scene was obviously set up. Luckily, she did not break her ankle and she manages to get a rose out of the deal. Not too shabby. The first group date spends the day at a spa where they rub mud all over Andy’s body. South Carolina Stephanie cannot keep her hands off of him and the other girls are seething! But the tables turn when she’s not chosen to spend “special quality time” with Andy. Pick your jaw up off the floor honey. The next group spends the day racing cars. It is obvious Andy is praying to a higher being while Kate is behind the wheel. She took out most of the cones on the course. Andy chooses Barbie (ok, her real name is Erin) to spend some quality time with in “his” Lamborghini. I’m guessing it’s because she doesn’t know how to drive a stick shift and being the gentleman that he is, Andy knew he had the right equipment to teach her. Peyton and Tessa are chosen to go on a two-on-one date with Andy and he must send one of them home afterwards. The decision brought tears to his eyes after he gave Tessa the rose and sent Peyton packing. He got over it pretty quickly though when he started going at it with Tessa shortly thereafter. Andy sent three more girls home at the rose ceremony including Barbie. Perhaps Ken has a brother we don’t know about.
Gone but not forgotten
The time has come for Sanjaya to pack up his curling iron and head home. This was an interesting week for American Idol. The contestants sang country songs with the help of their music mentor Martina McBride. This genre seemed like it would be challenging for everyone in the competition because no one really stands out as a country singer. Who thought Blake could pull of country? As always, Jordin Sparks was amazing. Simon felt that, based on her performance, she could win the competition. Sanjaya butchered his song as usual and while Simon was putting him down, Ryan stepped in to defend him. Lakisha, who made Martina cry with her rendition of “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” was heavily criticized from the judges on her performance. Apparently, America agreed and she ended up in the bottom three Wednesday night. Joining her and Sanjaya was Blake who didn’t stay up there for long. But alas, no one could save Sanjaya this week. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame. William Hung who?
A lesson on class
This week’s Flavor of Love: Charm School’s lesson was aimed at teaching the girls some class. This includes walking gracefully, having appropriate dinner conversation and proper table manners. Andrew Firestone (a previous contestant on The Bachelor) shows up at the house to meet the girls and choose one of them to accompany him to a wine event at his family’s vineyard. The drama unfolds as the girls are getting ready for their big debut–and Schatar hides Heathers clothes. The other girls get revenge by hanging up her dirty underwear on a bulletin board. Thankfully, VH1 blurred out the “dirt.” These girls are just oozing with class. After Schatar shares a heartfelt story with Andrew, he chooses her to accompany him to the event. What was he thinking? Andrew was probably kicking himself the moment she stepped out of the limo and fell flat on her face. In this week’s elimination round, the bottom three are Heather, Cristal and Larissa. Although, Heather felt she tried very hard this week but the judges didn’t think so and expelled her.
A girl’s got needs
On Lost, now that Jack is spending some quality time with Juliet, Kate becomes jealous and throws herself at Sawyer. Not that he’s complaining. According to him, “all she has to do is ask.” (Hey Sawyer, My name is Beth. I gotta question for you…) Meanwhile, after Desmond sees a series of unusual premonitions, he takes Hurley, Jin and Charlie on a mission to make them come true. Unfortunately for an unknown Charlie, one of those premonitions shows him getting shot in the throat by an arrow and dying. Fast forward
On Grey’s Anatomy, Addison contemplates leaving Seattle Grace for another job. It looks like the writers are setting up her departure into her much talked about spin-off series. Michael takes the ladies from The Office on an unusual outing and we finally get to know more about the parachutist on Lost and what really happened to Flight 815.
