This spin-off of 2008’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall finds Brand reprising his role as decadent rocker Aldous Snow, while Hill (who played the singer’s creepy superfan in that film) plays a hapless record company intern hired to accompany the out-of-control singer to a big gig at L.A.’s Greek Theater. Crude humor and outrageous hijinks ensue.
What We Think: We loved Sarah Marshall, but you won’t find a more unnecessary spin-off this side of Elektra. Brand is a funny guy, but his wry comedy is most effective in short servings, and Hill is on the verge of becoming the most annoying personality on the planet. Taken together, it’s a recipe for disaster..
Cool to Know: shot some of Alduous Snow’s concert scenes for the film during his comedy show “Scandalous” at London’s O2 arena, performing in front of an audience of 20,000 fans.
