UPDATED: Grammy-winning band Radiohead was one hour from starting their sold-out show in Toronto when the stage collapsed, killing one person and injuring others.
Fans had yet to enter Downsview Park, where the concert was scheduled to take place around 5 pm, but crew members were still setting up when the scaffolding above the main stage fell.
The concert was planned for Saturday night, but canceled according to a post on the Park’s official Facebook page. “There has been an incident, more details forthcoming.”
An update on the Toronto Police Facebook page reads: “1 male in his 30’s pronounced dead at the scene. 1 male, 45, transported to hospital with non-life threatening head injuries. 2 other males, minor injures, not treated. The investigation will continue for some time with the Ministry of Labour. The area/structure has been made safe by Toronto Fire Services and contractors.”
